Introducing Aaron Ramirez, MD

Dr. Ramirez joins the Department of Family and Community Medicine as the first Fellow for LGBTQ+ Health on July 1, 2024


Jesus Aaron Ramirez, MD, a fourth-year resident in the Internal Medicine and Pediatrics Residency Program, has been named UC's first Sawyer Pardo LGBTQ+ Health fellow.

Dr. Ramirez has a track record of teaching, research and program development in LGBTQ+ health, serving as a strong driver for implementation of care for LGBTQ+ patients in the Hoxworth Med/Peds Clinic. His clinical experience also includes LGBTQ+ care at a Tijuana medical clinic. He also has worked as a volunteer HIV counselor in Baltimore and is a founding member of the LGBTQ resident working group at UC.

Additionally, Dr. Ramirez has been involved with HIV-ASSIST, a decision-support tool that condenses evidence-based HIV guidelines into a web-based program to help clinicians learn more about HIV treatment.
